Doom

Explosive, fast-paced combat returned in brutal fashion with DOOM, the modern reboot of the legendary first-person shooter franchise. Published by Bethesda Softworks and developed by id Software, the 2016 title revitalized the series with relentless action, powerful weapons, and a return to classic arena-style gameplay.

Players take control of the iconic Doom Slayer, a lone warrior awakened on a Mars research facility overrun by demonic forces unleashed from Hell. Armed with a devastating arsenal of weapons—including the Super Shotgun, rocket launcher, chainsaw, and the legendary BFG—your mission is simple: eliminate every demon that stands in your way.

Unlike many modern shooters that rely heavily on cover mechanics, DOOM encourages aggressive movement and constant combat. Players must run, jump, and dash through arenas while taking down waves of enemies in brutal close-range encounters. The game’s signature “Glory Kill” system rewards players for weakening enemies and finishing them with powerful melee executions that restore health and keep the fight going.

The environments range from high-tech research facilities on Mars to terrifying landscapes deep within Hell itself. Each level is filled with hidden upgrades, weapon mods, and secret areas that reward exploration while maintaining the game’s relentless pace.

With its thunderous metal soundtrack, intense gunplay, and fluid movement system, DOOM successfully modernized one of gaming’s most influential franchises—delivering a thrilling experience built around speed, power, and pure demon-slaying chaos.
